Paris Fashion Week – Who Says Paris Is Best In The Springtime

You haven’t lived until you’ve been to Paris in the winter — during Fashion Week of course! It may be cold and rainy, but Paris is always beautiful, and buzzing with excitement at a myriad of fashion shows, expositions and parties that even us mere mortals of the public can attend. And, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to brush elbows with celebrities and fashion world icons who jet-set over from the prior Fashion Weeks in New York, London and Milan.

The Fall/Winter Paris Prêt-a-Porter Fashion Week is the most prominent trade event for the fashion industry, when Fall fashions are rolled-out as a season preview for the world’s biggest retail buyers who’re scrambling to place their orders for fashion, handbags, jewelry, shoes, hats and cosmetics. Unlike other large industry convention hall tradeshows, Fashion Week is orchestrated citywide at some of Paris’ most prominent points of interest.

This year from February 25th to March 4th, top designers and fashion design students staged fashion extravaganzas ranging from the pinnacle of good taste to the surreal. Among the selected sites, were the Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Musée de l’Homme, le Champs-Elysee, le Tour Montparnasse, place du Trocadéro, Théâtre du Châtelet, and La Sorbonne. Color Trends in Men’s Business Fashion

Whether it is your go-to pair of shoes or your favorite suit, chances are that there is a lot of black in your workday wardrobe. Black is versatile, it hides stains, it has a slimming effect and it can be worn with virtually anything, which is why black has long been the most popular color choice for men. Like anything else, there is such thing as too much of a good thing, and dressing in black every day when you go to work may have you feeling a little monotonous. To break up that all black style you’ve been wearing, consider adding color into your wardrobe by taking advantage of some of the other best colors in menswear.

Navy is a simple way to incorporate color into your wardrobe without creating a look that is too wild or hard to work with. Men’s blazers and school uniforms have long taken advantage of the lighter yet still professional look of navy, and you can incorporate this shade easily into your wardrobe. The easiest way to work with navy is to pair it with other pieces that are easy to match- for example, crisp white shirts and blue ties look great with a navy suit or slacks. One of the great things about navy is that you can pair it with many other colors, much like black. Wearing a navy cardigan over blue ties and white shirts with khaki slacks looks just as great as more formal attire.

Many men are a little intimidated by pastels, but these softer colors can help brighten up your wardrobe. Since pastels aren’t a richly saturated color, they can be worn with dark pieces like gray, black, or navy to create an outfit that makes a statement without being loud. Mix up pastels in similar colors, such as light blue shirts with dark blue ties, to create a monochromatic look that is easy to pull off. Or, match pastels with ties in similarly hued patterns for the perfect springtime look.

Gray is the softer, lighter cousin of black, and adding gray to your wardrobe is another easy step. Gray suit pieces are ideal for wearing to work or wearing as separates- a gray suit coat looks casual with a pair of black trousers, and gray trousers are the perfect weekday date outfit. You can also add a gray shirt to your everyday look. It’s a good change from traditional white shirts, and can be paired flawlessly with red, silver, or blue ties for a look that is appropriate anywhere.

When it comes to your workday clothing, adding color is a great way to stand out in a crowd of black suits. Chances are, you’re already fond of a few colors, so find ways to include them in your office wear. A little splash of color can go a long way toward making your work clothes less monotonous and more fun to wear. Whether you pick out the perfect grey suit or start a collection of blue ties to pair with your favorite yellow shirts, a little color goes a long way.
